Hi there,

If you think about it, life is like a storybook: we're born, we live our lives and we die. It's kinda like that proverbial beginning, middle and ending that we're taught in essay class.

This struck me over the past week whilst taking care of my ailing, octogenarian mom (sorry, guys - you'll have to guess her actual age!).

Hello peeps, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. As I'm sure was the case with most of you, this year I found myself being a lot more pensive, reflective and appreciative.

In pausing to ponder the whirlwind journey that has been the Donna Mills Creations experience, I can't help but shed a tear or two.

Hey y'all,

Until recently, my entire family was quarantined at home due to the pandemic.

During this time, I learnt something truly profound, i.e. that life is all about HOPE and LOVE. Let me explain.

Hey there,

I hope that you're enjoying the holiday season thus far.

When It's Hard To Be A Sports Fan

Most of us love sports. Whatever the game or discipline, we watch keenly as feelings of national or hometown pride, excitement, suspense, euphoria, hope and even vicarious achievement are conjured up inside of us by the heroics of the athletes involved.

Sport is a beautiful concept, with precepts of fair play, competing against the very best (and winning) and achieving greatness by pushing oneself past the point of what was thought to be one's limitations.

These enduring ideals of sport typically stir up emotions to levels which have the power to inspire entire nations whilst breaking down social, cultural, political, gender and religious barriers.

But sport can also bring out the worst in us. Brawls, ineptitude and even downright cheating are all undesirable features of sport which rear their ugly heads more often than not in this highly commercialized sporting era.

A New Mission For Donna's Diary

Charting A New Course In Life

Hi folks,

Since mid-Jan this year I've been pouring my personal opinions, thoughts, observations and anecdotes into this diary blog.

Its deeply personal nature makes the blog very near and dear to my heart, since this allows me to retain my sanity as I openly and sincerely share matters of interest on a profound level.

As much as I've enjoyed sharing my personal experiences with you, recent political events have compelled me to change course and pursue a new objective, a real MISSION.

Though especially for persons involved in online promotions or networking, this post will also be of interest to anyone who engages in social media-based activities on a regular basis.

A Pleasant Surprise Last Weekend

CBS' New Hit: 'God Friended Me'

Being a Gen-Xer, there's not too much of today's pop culture that I can relate to. The most glaring example is TV.

The new brand of "comedy" which has permeated modern TV culture is lost on generations that grew up on critically acclaimed sitcoms like The Cosby Show, Home Improvement and Family Ties.

There are some exceptions though, going as far back as Everybody Loves Raymond, The King Of Queens, Two And A Half Men (the Charlie Sheen edition) and (more recently) The Big Bang Theory.

But bad as most sitcoms are today, many of the dramas are even worse.

Yes, we're still hopelessly hooked on the legal-/medical-/emergency-themed dramas first popularized in the 80's and there are some really great suspense thrillers too.

Yet there seems to be a dearth of originality in TV circles which has resulted in the re-booting of every hit show from the period spanning somewhere between 1983 and 2000.

Just over two weeks ago, we said goodbye to one of the greatest singer/songwriters of the 20th century... to REAL, respectable, rock-'n-roll royalty!

Yes, "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin departed from this life with a pomp, ceremony and flair befitting only the most revered of monarchs.
